Every year the National Trust invite our school to participate in their potato workshop, highlighting the life and work of John Clark. John Clark who was born in Ballintoy, lived on the site for a period and was an award winning potato breeder . He is responsible for the popular potato variety, Maris Piper. The children always enjoy planting the potatoes in the Summer term and then digging them up again in the Autumn.
